New research is finding that ballet dancers are more fit than swimmers who seemingly engage in more strenuous activities due to swimming being a more physical sport. As it shows, ballet dancers are more fit than swimmers for they use more muscles that results in better muscle tone. The study involved members of a ballet group and members of the British National Swimming team all of whom go on their regular routines in terms of practice and exercises. Ballet dancers turned out to have more endurance, balance, flexibility and psychological state allowing base figures to be established. The surprising results shows that ballet dancers had 25% more strength than swimmers in some of the most standard fitness tests used to evaluate health in the real-world.
Thought the study featured two different areas of athletic abilities the differences were profound and surprising due to overall impressions of the sporting industry. This brings to light the differences in terms of dietary requirements, exercise regimes and other important factors that is designed specifically for their sport. Being fit has different meanings for different people and it also applies for life where we should design a regimen that works for the individual.
