Justifying Textbook Rental Fees

In today’s educational system, the idea of textbook rental is high on the list of many students. It is becoming increasingly costly to enter universities or even local colleges simply because the costs are skyrocketing. Students have to pay for their cost of living which includes some form of housing, clothing, food and other necessities to live rather comfortably. Also, students need to have a sizable amount saved up to pay for all their miscellaneous fees that they may incur during the school year.
With all those expenses it is nearly impossible for the average person to have enough financial stability to get through four years and earn a degree. For that reason, any means of financial aid will go a long way in helping students live their dreams. As mentioned, one idea that has made a huge impact on the educational system is textbook rental. Since textbooks are sold at extremely high prices, most students do not have the cash to spend on a new set every semester. Thus, out of the goodness of their hearts and the financial benefits they might gain, post graduate students often rent out their old textbooks. Even if some may be a revision or two behind, students save a lot of money that can be spent elsewhere.
At the end of the day, textbook rental has shown the compassionate side of humanity. For those who rent out the books, they should feel grateful that such an idea manifested itself. And, in the future, hopefully they feel compelled to give back what has been given to them and continue this newly established tradition.
