Sickening Food?

Many people have reported ill effects from the food additive called MSG in the many years of its existence but to date no fatalities have ever been definitively linked to the naturally occurring amino acid that was synthesized for commercial food preparation. From headaches, nausea to stomach cramps, many other maladies were attributed to the food additive but with blind testing no such results can be found. It can however be linked to a phenomenon called “Chinese Restaurant Syndrome” when food from other countries were being promoted as being healthier faced with the influx of Chinese food outlets all over the world.

Though truly a staple of many Asian kitchens, it is not as heavily used as described and is only used to enhance the taste of food. Other claims such as addiction and other health problems have been put to rest with study after study that has stated no ill effects from the much used food additive. It can even be healthier with its ability to make food taste better using less salt. Think you’re buying healthier stuff? Look for any food ingredient named hydrolyzed protein and what do you get, you guessed it MSG.
