These are the figures coming out of the many health facilities/hospitals the world over, the more obese a person is, the longer they have to stay in the hospital for recovery. That covers all injuries or operations for it shows that obese people may be fat but their immune systems are very weak and may not be able to handle the stress of a major operation. For bones, the additional weight prevents bones from healing properly thus lengthening the recovery period. When going under the knife, the thick layer if fat makes surgery harder and recovery also takes longer for wounds to heal through, leaving the insides raw and in danger of opening up. The pressure on the organs by the excess fat is also another factor, so please stay fit, for your sake and your body if you still want to live a normal life. Eating right and eating a well balanced diet is one of the ways to stay fit, along with regular exercise and health checks to determine health issues before they get out of hand.
